JACKSONVILLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Sealed bids will be received by the Jacksonville Aviation Authority Administration Building, 14201 Pecan Park Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218 until 2:00 PM local time, May 10, 2012, at which time they shall be opened in the JAA 2nd Floor Conference Room, 14201 Pecan Park Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218, for:
AIRFIELD LIGHTING UPGRADES - PHASE V
This project is the fifth phase in a series of airfield lighting upgrades planned for Jacksonville International Airport. This project will replace the aged high intensity runway edge light, runway centerline and runway touchdown zone lighting on Runway 8-26. The existing Runway 8-26 in-pavement lighting top can sections shall be cored out and replaced and the existing circuiting shall be removed and replaced with new cable and transformers utilizing the existing base cans and conduit. The existing Runway 8-26 centerline and touchdown zone lighting shall be replaced with energy efficient LED type fixtures and the existing Runway 8-26 high intensity edge lights shall be replaced with Quartz or energy efficient LED type fixtures. In addition, as a continuation of the Phase IV Airfield Lighting Improvements, this project shall remove and replace existing airfield signs that are past their useful life. The proposed signs shall use energy efficient LED technology.
There will be a Pre-Bid Conference held in the JAA 2nd Floor Conference Room of the Administrative Offices, 14201 Pecan Park Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218, at 2:00 PM on April 24, 2012.
Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid will be required to accompany bids. Contract Bonding shall also be required. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities in bidding. Participation in the Disadvantage Business Enterprises Program (DBE) is required. The goal for this contract is Twelve percent (12%) to be performed by certified DBE firms.
This project will be bid as a single contract. Bid prices may be held for up to 120 days. All bids must be submitted in accordance with Project Manual for Contract No. C-770 which may be examined in the Jacksonville Aviation Authority Administration Building Office, or obtained from:

Complete sets of drawings and specifications may be purchased from AVCON, Inc. for $150 per set, plus the cost of mailing or overnight shipping, after 3:00 p.m., April 10, 2012. Partial sets of drawings and specifications will not be issued. The purchase price for the contract documents is not refundable.
