JetBlue Airways will offer nonstop flights from Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) the airline announced in a press release this morning<\/a>.<\/p>\n

JetBlue will offer daily nonstop service to LAX on a 162-seat Airbus A320 starting March 4, 2021. The flight will depart Jacksonville at 5:00 p.m. EST, arriving at LAX at 7:49 p.m. PST. The return flight will depart Los Angeles at 8:00 a.m. PST arriving in Jacksonville at 3:33 p.m. EST.<\/p>\n

In a press release<\/a> issued over the summer, JetBlue announced its intent to grow at LAX. With high fares, no nonstop flights and increased demand for West Coast service, JAX is a perfect candidate to benefit from that development.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe worked 12 years to restore the JAX-LAX route since losing it as a result of the 2008 financial crisis,\u201d Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) CEO Mark VanLoh said. \u201cNot only is Los Angeles one of our largest unserved destinations, we are one of theirs as well. This is a huge win.\u201d<\/p>\n

VanLoh noted that Northeast Floridians must support the Los Angeles nonstop flight if it is going to be successful.<\/p>\n

\u201cGetting the service was our first challenge. Keeping it here and growing the route is the second.\u201d VanLoh said. \u201cThat means it\u2019s imperative travelers support the JAX-LAX nonstop.\u201d
\nStarting February 11, JetBlue will also offer service to Raleigh-Durham four times per week on a 100-seat Embraer E-190. Flights to RDU will depart JAX at 12:50 p.m. EST and arrive at approximately 2:15 p.m. EST. Flights from RDU will depart at 10:30 a.m. EST and arrive in JAX at 12:02 p.m. EST.<\/p>\n

\u201cRaleigh-Durham and the Research Triangle are a bright spot in North Carolina\u2019s economy and a market JetBlue seems intent on expanding,\u201d VanLoh said. \u201cWe look forward to their service connecting our two wonderful communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s announcement is on the heels of new additional service from JetBlue. The airline started new nonstop flights from Jacksonville to Newark in July.
