ALLEGIANT

Allegiant will fly nonstop from Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY), Memphis International Airport (MEM), and Richmond International Airport (RIC) beginning April 2016.

Flights to New Orleans will operate on Thursdays and Sundays beginning April 14. The Memphis and Richmond flights will operate Fridays and Mondays beginning March 15. Allegiant made the announcement in a press release this morning. All of the flights are scheduled year-round.

The new flights will operate twice weekly and expand on the routes Allegiant currently operates to JAX. With these three new flights, they will now serve five markets nonstop to the Northeast Florida area. The airline launched flights to Pittsburgh (PIT) and Cincinnati (CVG) in 2015.

“With the announcement of nonstop flights to New Orleans, Richmond and Memphis, Allegiant will provide service to five destinations from JAX,” Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) CEO Steve Grossman said. “Our community’s support of these flights is critical for both business and leisure travelers.”
